The advent of globalization has impacted, both negatively and positively, the Barbadian social and economic landscapes. Globalization has required Barbados to raise its competitive advantage in many sectors, and has forced policy makers to craft new strategies that would ensure the continuous development and advancement of the country’s human resource. The need to focus on our human resource stems from the basic fact that it is our main resource, and it is through our human capital that we have, and will continue to strive for sustainable social and economic development.
