
On Friday, June 5, 2026, the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and the Third Sector was pleased to participate in a Disability Sensitivity Training Session held at the Savannah Hotel and delivered by the Rotary Club of Barbados South in partnership with the Barbados Council for the Disabled under the People Development Third Sector Grant Facility. Mr. Imran Best (Program Officer) and Mr. Diante Collymore (Program Assistant) attending on behalf of the Ministry.
The training formed part of the AccessAbility: Pathways to Independence Programme, an initiative aimed at enhancing the inclusion, independence and employment readiness of persons with disabilities while fostering greater awareness and understanding among employers, service providers and the wider community.
Participants engaged in interactive discussions and practical activities focused on disability awareness, accessibility, respectful communication and the importance of creating inclusive environments where all individuals can participate fully and reach their potential.
The Ministry remains committed to supporting programmes that promote social inclusion, strengthen communities and advance decent work opportunities for all Barbadians through meaningful partnerships with the third sector.
Together, we are creating pathways to independence and building a more inclusive Barbados.
