The Ministry of Labour and Social Partnership Relations has organized three focus groups’ meetings which are to be chaired by the Minister.

The purpose of the meetings is to build awareness of the Government’s plan to provide valuable work experience for the youth. This will be achieved through a programme called Job Start Plus part of the National First Jobs Initiative.

In the first part of this programme, the Ministry will sensitize tradespeople on the programme and will encourage the tradespeople to partner with Government to provide job attachments for the youth, which it is hoped will lead to long term employment.

The meetings are scheduled to be held as follow:

  • September 2, 2019 at the Alexandra School;
  • September 3, 2019 at the Foundation School; and
  • September 9, 2019 at the Queen’s Park Steel Shed.

All the meetings commence at 5:30pm.
