The Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Third Sector will host its Annual Symposium for Faith-Based Organisations this Friday, April 10, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The symposium will focus on Government’s commitment to providing a $5 million annual fund to support social programmes, led by churches and faith-based organisations.

This initiative forms part of a broader Governmental effort to strengthen community-based interventions, while expanding opportunities for young people in the form of structured, value-driven programmes.

Through the establishment of this fund, Government has signalled its intention to support organisations with impactful proposals that have the potential to address key social challenges and contribute to national development.

The funding will be made available to programmes that focus on keeping young people engaged in positive activities, including skills training, personal development, mentorship, and other initiatives designed to build capacity and improve life’s outcomes.

The symposium also provides the opportunity for stakeholders to learn more about the initiative, engage in discussion, and explore how faith-based organisations can access support to expand their reach and impact.
