GREAT ATTITUDE, INITIATIVE, VALUES AND EXCELLENCE (GIVE)

Workshop

G.I.V.E held ten (10) workshops for public officers between the months of May and July 2011. There were approximately twenty-five (25) persons from various Ministries/Departments at each workshop. The objective of the workshops was to improve attitudes in the workplace and to promote standards of appropriate behaviour.  Some areas of professional conduct discussed were attendance, honesty & integrity, dress and appearance, communication, performance and customer service.

Question

Why is it important to have a good attitude on the job?

Answer

  •  A positive attitude contributes to the productivity of the organization and colleagues.
  • Good working relationships/friendships are facilitated.
  •  Customers (internal and external) are easier to deal with when you have a good attitude.
  • The type of attitude you transmit will have a great deal to do with your future success.
