MIinistry Of Labour Wins Most Colourful Band At May Day 2011

Walking the streets to sweet calypso in bold orange t-shirts, the Ministry of Labour spread the message about the apprenticeship programme of the Barbados Vocational Training Board at the Barbados Workers Union’s Annual May Day Parade on May 2nd, 2011. As they made their way from the Garrison Savannah to Browne’s Beach, band members paraded placards highlighting the benefits of apprenticeship and its contribution to technical education and training, decent work and economic development in Barbados.

The band’s theme was “Earn As You Learn through Apprenticeship.

While the numbers fell a little short of winning the largest band prize, the sea of orange caught the eyes of on watchers and judges alike, winning the Ministry of Labour The Most Colorful Band Prize.

The Ministry of Labour wants to thank all those who came out in support of this event and looks forward to next year.
