Dear Sir / Madam,
My name is Earla-Ashlee Massiah. The idea I would like to purpose is the implementation of transfers in our transport system.
Citizens sometimes have to take 2 or 3 means to get to work and back home. I know from experience commuting from St. Peter to St. Michael or Christ Church. To help fellow citizens save, I believe the use of transfers at the different terminals would be beneficial. These transfers should have an expiry after 2 hours. This should allow for citizens to travel from the North to the South of the island on 1 bus fare ($2) without having to spend ($4 or $6). This of course is dependent on traffic.
With the turn of events with our finances, I believe the citizens deserve to feel they and their pockets are still being thought of despite the increases and/or cuts in certain areas.
In order to keep track of the transfers, I thought a colour coded system should work for each terminal so the driver is aware of the direction you are coming and going. While I thought of other forward, more technological options for now and also a graduated step for the future, sadly I am not certain our purse cannot handle this. However, others may have another suggestions that may be more suitable.
I trust this email finds whoever is reading this in good spirits and that the idea be considered.
Best regards,
Earla-Ashlee Massiah
