Purchase buses for public transport that do not have steps i.e. the door opens at the sidewalk level.

Rationale:  The steps of the current fleet of Transport Board buses are very steep and because of this, are difficult to ascend for able bodied persons, furthermore for older persons such as pensioners, who are frequent users of these buses.  Having buses with doors which open at the sidewalk level, makes it very easy to board the bus.  These type of buses also make it possible for wheelchair users to travel on these buses, without the Government having to purchase separate buses for wheelchair users.  This would save the Government money and enable wheelchair users to be better serviced by the Transport Board.  Ultimately, the Government should be investing in buses which allow access for all.  Summarily, buses with doors which open at the sidewalk level are easier to enter and facilitate use by wheelchair users.
