To whom it may concern,

  • First of all I would like to suggest a designated parking area for hire cars at the airport. Most airports have a designated parking area for hire cars (even St.Vincent has one). We used to share the east parking lot with the taxi drivers until it got too small for both of us and the hire cars were kicked out. The large companies that can afford to rent space at the airport have a parking lot allocated to the left of the exit road but for the rest of us who are small have to park in the paying car park. Obviously this gets very expensive so we would appreciate any help we can get here. Perhaps the parking lot left of the exit road could be expanded.
  • I read in today’s paper that the Barbados Tourism Product Authority has opened a booth at the airport and I would like to suggest they offer Visitor’s driving permits for sale on the weekends. There is a problem right now where it is almost impossible for a visitor to get a permit, unless he is renting a hire car, between 2pm on Friday and 9am on Monday. I know of quite a few people who have friends or relatives that come to visit and cannot borrow their car to drive anywhere during the weekend (during the week they can get a permit from the MTW between 9am and 2pm)
