Set up a Bond type facility in Florida. This will be a hub where cargo for any of the government of Barbados projects will come and be assessed and then to be shipped from there.
LCL, pharmaceuticals, equipment parts, water authority equipment, etc.
Such a facility will also have a Customs officer from Barbados who will assess all cargo of the necessary duties in which would be applicable. This Customs officer should be one of high regard when it comes to honesty and integrity. This bond type arrangement in florida can allow both government workers, duty free entities, nonprofit organizations, as well as personal effects shipments to be precleared on arrival.

There is also a cost savings for such a venture as the FAS charges could be eliminated bringing down the costs of governments cargo for their ongoing projects. There will also be a savings of not having to go through a middleman when it comes to offering goods. Local suppliers could easily order from their principles what the Central purchasing desires but instead of buying on a CIF basis, cargo can be droppedshipped to such a government owned facility where their responsibility ends.

Shipping cost can also be negotiated through the number of shipping companies plying the route to Barbados. By assisting the government in better freight prices reduced costs associated with what they have to pay the government on arrival of their weekly ships can be negotiated.

This venture also shuts down the Cottage industry of iindividuals who have made a living by abusing their power by turning their eye to giving the Gov't what is due by negotiating their own terms for personal benefit.

This program if instituted properly also disrupts custom brokers who deliberately flout the system by misdeclaring the dutiable items to a category that benefits themselves and consigned and not government.

This facility will also be a central warehouse of emergency supplies that can be ready to deliver to Barbados or eastern Caribbean areas.
