We definitely need to rebuild the IBC Sector. I always hear how frustrating it is to start and get companies going. In countries like Bermuda approval is normally within a week and largely ecommerce

Agreed .   This is so important.  Not just for those in "big business to have the opportunity  to come to Barbados' shores but also the reverse " With a small island economy take advantage of the opportunities for individuals to generate foreign exchange and income from overseas as business and individuals.  Not only does it take a short space of time to set up an IBC  in other Caribbean IBC jurisdictions .  It is seems to be fair in the sense that  it is often more affordable for a start up with a great idea but with limited financial resources.    Also the associated banking  facilities also gives the opportunity to produce more efficiently . Thus giving any individual with a great product and idea the opportunity to pitch, sell it , license it.

Banking  - - In Further support of the regeneration of IBC sector ,  the ability to transact business efficiently over the internet .  Many IBC jurisdictions offer ease of banking  within minutes transactions are ordered and completed .  There is also the freedom and convenience of paying suppliers .  so  the ability to hold accounts earning in in USD Dollars OR Pounds Sterling  etc. in the respective currency so as not to loose on the conversion and the ease of sending out foreign exchange.

Also to expand on the the  post by Paul Meyers on commerce .   It would be great if individuals could benefit from pursuing their passion/ interest hobbies and sharing their gift with the world .

Short Term - Direct to Household  opportunities.  Promote more use of global market places . Monetising Hobbies.

Monetise hobbies, things that the people have a passion for the best way possible.  An encouragement to become self sufficient, take advantage of  global ways to trade and generate personal income .  Ebay market is available  to and supports Caribbean Sellers  ( Amazon is more aggressive but does not support Caribbean sellers at this time).  A great outlet for Crafts, writers , artists etc. to sell to a larger market and post through the  Barbados post office/ DHl Fed  ex etc .   ( The only challenge here is ensuring the individual honours the sale and has integrity awithout defrauding the customer .)

Writers with an internet connection and no budget to afford go to print can write their books and poetry compilations and upload to amazon kindle free of cost ( amazon even takes care of the tax forms for selling on their us platform) for sale in digital format to a world market.    You tube, does not discriminate by country ,  you tubers do all types of videos  for all types of niches rewarding individuals for being themselves.  A creative outlet that pays  for creating high quality content  generating  a large numbers of views and subscribers , the better the content the more ads are featured and the more the you tuber is paid . Also  the you tuber in building their channel and brand can monetise the brand through merchandising selling online ( ebay, for example.) and paid endorsements.  All that is needed is an internet connection , a smart phone or video camera , and anyone can have their own entertainment channel  with engaging video content on what ever  hobby or interest the person has.

I have not been able to research other individual global revenue streams yet but will add as I discover more .

Good luck Barbados
