I truly hope that this is seen, and given serious consideration.

For many years I could not understand why the Caribbean Broadcasting corporation did not acquire and televise spanish programmes with sub-titles and educational programmes, when, since 1975, it was mandatory in schools and was declared our second language, due to bilateral relations with our South American neighbours. Instead of facilitating encouraging and supporting our children and population to learn and converse in spanish, our local channel 8 is inundated with chinese and japanese programmes for over 1 year now.

Isn't it possible to gain access to spanish cultural programmes in the same way that these Eastern programmes have been acquired?  Possibly through the Venezuelan and or Cuban Embassies.

In addition, we have so many mixed marriages here, with children of Barbadian and venezuelan parents, whom I'm sure would be delighted to  see cultural programmes of their homeland with their children.

We must do more than the one and only "Se habla espanol"

Thanks for your kind and urgent consideration.
