- Rejig or eliminate district jurisdictions. Use the constituencies but combine the ones in St. Michael and St. Philip.
- Increase police force to 2000. Return beat cops on foot patrol. Increase traffic cops both day and night with them having a permanent presence in all bus terminals.
- Traffic cameras for speed and traffic light offenses
- Implement the ticket system for traffic offenses, illegal dumping, public order offenses including nuisance from noise and kites.
- Post offices to become one stop shop for all Government services and payment of fees and fines. This requires installation of touch screen terminals where an individual can go to apply for licenses and make payment via credit or debit card. Any Government function is accessible at a Post Office.
- Create enforcement units for every Ministry. Laws are on our books which the RBPF is expected to enforce but it has manpower issues. Create enforcement units where persons are not behind a desk but are out in the public informing them of offenses and the penalties under law.
- Expand the Fire Service by more staff and Fire Station in Speightstown or Benthams and in Warrens.
- The land to the West of Pricesmart should be acquired by Govt or land next to Tower Two should be acquired for Fire and Ambulance station as there is now the police station in Cane Garden.
- Expand the ambulance service by siting crews with Fire service at all stations.

I support the ideas submitted as they relate to the Fire Service and Emergency Ambulance Service (QEH)... when you consider the current population of Barbados (approx 280,000) the size of the fire department (establishment 243 current size 176) does NOT make sense demographically. There is a dire need to increase the manpower of the fire service and construction of at least two more fire stations; one in Mile and A Quarter, St. Peter and the other in Six Roads, St. Philip. The response area for the Four Roads, St. John is really too large (parts of St. George, St. John, St. Philip, St. Joseph and St. Andrew). The Six Roads station would also serve to back-up the Airport station as well, which generally serves the Grantley Adams Airport and its environs (5km). Please also remember that the St. James station was closed last year (one less station).
Any demographic survey will reveal that the situation that currently exists is unrealistic for our modern times. The idea of assisting the emergency ambulance to decentralise by housing them at fire stations is a good one, it is currently being done successfully at the Arch Hall Fire Station. Expand and renovate a few more of the existing fire stations to accommodate the ambulance personnel.
