Hi,

I not too long ago left the Worthing post office after waiting in line very long just to purchase a stamp to mail a letter. Every time I go to that post office, the line is long.

One of the reasons I could readily identify for this is because people with matters that require more intensive assistance, like parcel mailing or collection for e.g. have to queue in the same line as people with matters that require little assistance like buying stamps. Given the aforementioned, along with the fact that the Post Office seems understaffed (with only one or two agents working at any given time), for obvious reasons, it's no wonder the lines and wait times are so long.

From my timing living in the US, vending machines for stamps purchases were common. I'm not sure why they can't be utilized here. Not only would they reduce the number of people that queue to see the agents but they would also help the agents to deal with matters that require their more involved assistance in a timely manner.

Vending machines for stamps is relatively old technology but I think such an investment would go a long way towards helping our post offices to operate more efficiently.

Regards
