The proper RE-integration of former inmates into society is an overlooked importance, and according to one prominant Jamaican official recently; there is a need to provide for all former inmates regardless of long or short sentences served. A (public sector reform act) law of criminal record expungement that does not provide for persons serving above (3) years, in my opinion is antiquated, prejudice and not fitting in a modern world. As we observe many youths are involved in serious crime. If given lenghty sentences, and during that sentence is properly reformed; they too should be given a second chance.

This idea relates to the reintegration of x convicts into the society especially those who has acquired a skill either in prison or before entering the prison.
If the government can find a building where these persons with skills can report to and work in a program to build items for sale. these items can be furniture, doors, windows.
Welding items such as gates ect. bending steel members to make beams, matts, stirrups and so on.
They would be given a portion of the money from the sale of the products and a percentage will go back into the program to cover cost. This idea can be expanded to facilitate more than the fore mention and it needs proper planning and organizing.
