- Mandatory micro-chipping of dogs and horses. This may have to be subsidized by government because the Vets even the BRSPCA are mercenary with their pricing. If not, find a committee of people willing to fundraise so that this can be offered at a low cost or free to pet owners.
- Racehorse owners need to be responsible for the animal after it has given its best years for the financial benefit of the owner.
- Regulation of dog breeders in Barbados. Purebred dogs are being found wandering or starving on the streets. Make the breeders microchip all dogs originating from their kennels and submit all records to Animal Control.
- In the case that the new owner no longer wants the dog, the breeder must take it back and the new owner must give it back for re-homing.
- Eliminate all backyard breeders. Jail time for backyard breeders.
- Create laws to tackle animal abuse and enforce them with harsh penalties. Animal abusers often become child abusers, women beaters and murderers. The research speaks to this, Let Barbados be a beacon in this issue.
- Stamp out dog fighting and cock fighting. Jail time with monetary penalties. To me smoking marijuana is not a crime but this is.
- Make an animal rights policy. Lots of Jail time for abusers.
Reinstate the neutering bus that was unfunded by the current government.

Animal welfare - too many cases of neglect and abuse. If people can hurt animals they can hurt children and other people. We need harsher penalties Stop putting big dogs in tiny locked dog houses 24hrs 7 days a week! No dogs on short chains without shelter, clean water and food.
Stop shooting monkeys and allowing people to sell the babies!
Suggestion 1)
Houston Texas has a police division for animal welfare. They respond to animal abuse complaints and have the powers of regular police officers.
