1) Polyclinic's should be open late. I have been to the St Philip polyclinic and Maurice Byer polyclinic with my eldest and now my youngest daughters....your appointment is for 9am and sometimes you do not get out til 1pm! We did not go to see a doctor but a nurse for their shots. An hour to get the baby weight and measure and then up to 3 hours to get a shot....
Suggestion:
Have a medical student (basic wage or stipend and it gives them work experience) weighing the babies who come for appointments and walk ins as soon as the polyclinic opens 8:30am.
Nurses then give the shots and with the help of a medical student enter the data into the computers.
Do not wait til 9am to start weighing the babies.
Suggestion 2:
Open til 8pm..last appointment at 8pm
I work and do not have the time to take half a day off especially when all I am doing is siting and waiting. Those who are unemployed and/or those who can afford to take half a day off should get the day time appointments. Working parents should be able to bring their babies in after work.
