Move towards a system similar to that in Canada where there would be no personal allowance and four tiered rates of personal income tax. The reinstitution of allowances for pension, mortgage interest, mutual funds, home repairs etc.
Removal of “top up taxes” 22% VAT on cell phones, Cess on milk, sweetened beverages tax. Reduction in the overall cost of food within the country including healthy foods.

The island is in need of tax reform. Not just adjusting tax percentages.
The entire system needs an overhaul. Tax bands need abolishing in favor of a flat tax.
Like Trinidad.
A flat income tax of 33%.
Removing other taxes.
Lower business tax.
A flat tax for all bajans.
