Goodnight colleagues,

This recommendation may be driven by my own selfish desires but I feel quite certain that I am not alone in making the proposal.

I am a nature loving individual and I am sure 100s if not 1000s of Barbadians and visitors share a similar value; we have the nature trails, hikes, dives you name it for the nature enthusiast but missing is a secure, well operated camp site with rangers included.

I see a site like this at Bath St. John; totally eco-friendly, I see areas dedicated for pitching tents, I see wooden cottages in the hills (nothing to destroy the landscape or the ecology of the area, so you would have compost toilets or the like, "coals made out of sargassum sea weed etc), I see rangers on bikes, horses, scouters etc, I see incorporated nature trails in the area, zip lines, perhaps a trampoline (for those who want a bit of sport), I see organized and controlled night dives to capture sea cat, I see more Martin's Bay type eateries, I see travel agencies organizing group stays for those who like nature, I see (in controlled fashion) vendors.... I even see a lil crayfish farming to be used in the eateries on site....if there was such a place in Barbados I swear it would be my favourite spot. I see  this as an opportunity to help build the local economy in St. John, an opportunity to grow the green economy, employment for Barbadians.... etc. Of course any idea should be matched with a needs assessment/survey to capture the views of locals, those living in St. John, visitors etc. Questions can be included on the exit surveys to see how tourist feel about such a tourism product, what they would like to consume, cost etc. They may want high end camping aspects (Glamping) or guarantees that the site is totally eco-friendly etc.

Anyhow those are just my thoughts give them some consideration...so that I can purchase a tent and go to a secured environment to spend some nights under the stars.
