Our Education system at the Secondary level, needs overhauling. Too many people are leaving school without having reached their full potential. Academic success is crucial in today’s society but there are many among us who are less academically inclined and we need to make sure that that group of persons are also given a fair chance at success.
Children should be accessed and their education should be geared toward their specific interests. Whether it be Art & Design, Woodwork and other Vocational subjects. I firmly believe that a more balanced mix of academic and vocational studies will be a better solution that what we currently have.
We also need to start a STEM program in Barbados for children at all levels.
