Innovation. Investment. Identity.

We Barbadians can put these three building blocks into a new National Stadium.

Launch a publicly traded company. Offer shares at $100, $1000, $10000, $100000 and a million Barbados dollars with associated tax credits and/or voting rights.

Guarantee we will raise $10 million easily. We now have enough to start the design process and to launch an international search for corporate backers who are willing to help fund the stadium. If we are fortunate, we may get a corporation who does not care about the name, so long as the structure generates revenue year round and redounds to their benefit as a brand name.

Revenue sources. This has to be built into the design.

Barbados Lumber Company will need to be moved in my concept. The road network surrounding the stadium should be a one way ring road concept which shuttles traffic to the stadium away from the traffic who are not interested in going there. It can be done by making traffic coming from Bush Hall turn right at the shooting range and proceed in a northerly direction. Traffic from Combermere will either continue down Bush hall or turn right at the same junction to proceed northerly. Traffic on the road to the East of the Stadium will now proceed freely as now occurs past Combermere but a stoplight should be put in place for those seeking to turn down Bush Hall.

The shooting range and netball stadium need to be incorporated into the National Stadium design. An indoor facility for netball, volleybal, basketball. A full gym. Medical facility for emergency care and recovery. police and fire. Full size football pitch separated from the Olympic track (hence why we need Lumber Company moved. The football pitch comes south and Olympic track goes northwest. Indoor cycling track where Lumber Company is now. Parking will be underground multiple levels and multi storey at far end of Lumber Company Ground. There will need to be some acquisitions of houses there.

Sports tourism can be a year round business for us. Professional teams in preseason warm up tournaments. Athletic meets. Universities. It would be in use for sports literally all year long.
