In many parts of the world, business innovation is driven by those exposed to university education. While our system has produced many competent workers, it perhaps is behind in producing groundbreaking entrepreneurs. I propose introducing an Entrepreneurship Fund Fee, administered by the University and payable by each student every year. 90% of the fund will be payable to a final year Barbadian student with the winning business idea that either generates significant employment or foreign exchange.
The Fee would be $200 per year and payable before any student can commence classes. That should generate in excess of $500k in seed capital for the entrepreneur. I would be happy to discuss more if you are interested.
