Good Morning

I saw an documentary which feature a French company that used seaweed to produce a biodegradeable plastic replacement  that is environmentally safe. I sought additional information from them and the following is the result of that exchange.

I really hope that this can be useful to us and the rest of the Caribbean.

Regards

Carol

Dear CAROL

Thank you very much for contacting us.

We have been working during the last two years on using Sargasso for our range of ALGOPACK and ALGOBLEND granulates.

All the Caribbean Islands have been touch by invasions of this type of Brown Seaweed. We could think of developping a center to treat the Sargasso there.

Our Idea beyond is to treat the pollution of oil based plastics by another pollution Sargasso. http://www.algopack.com/algopackgb.php

If you think we can work out something, let's exchange.

Best regards

Dear Mn Coti:

My name is Carol Belle-Hallsworth I am an systems analyst who lives in the small island of Barbados in Caribbean and is very much interested in reducing the use of oil based plastics.

I just saw an episode of Earthrise that featured your company and I was very impressed with your product. I imagine this is a long shot but does your company have any plans of licensing operations or expanding outside of France.

I expect the setup of your plant is expensive but we in the Caribbean are inundated yearly with massive amounts of seaweed so your raw materials would be readily available as well as the proximity of the Caribbean and Americas markets. I want to propose our government’s environmental department collaborate with your company to positively impact the Caribbean.

To be honest I am not sure how this will evolve but felt that I should contact your company to get some information to pass on to my parliamentary representative just in case your technology can be viable within our region.

Thank you for your time and congratulations on a great product.

Best Regards

Carol
